Andres Bossard was born on August 9th 1944 in Zurich where he visited the public schools and the school of arts and crafts. Early on he wrote and performed texts and short plays for Cabaret Groups in Zurich and Germany. At the age of 23 he went to Paris, where he studied at the theater school of Jacques Lecoq because he was convinced that he could express himself far better on stage with movement and masks than with words. At this school he met Bernie Schurch. Together they staged a first show with changeable masks in 1969/1970 and went on researching what later should become "Mummenschanz". Andres Bossard died on March 25th 1992. |
